DINOSAURS WILL DIE SNOWBOARDS

DWD DUKE board.

I’ve been snowboarding with Parker since 2000. We grew up catching the bus to Bogus Basin every weekend. We chased snow for years. Watching his talent on a snowboard is a true pleasure to witness. With an always humble demeanor, he has balanced life and riding through an array of situations.

Over the last three seasons, we’ve reconnected to put together the graphics for his pro model with Dinosaurs Will Die. From getting coffee to spitball all the way through to getting graphics production ready, it’s been a really fun project each year.

2020.

Paying homage to wear we sharpened our teeth on the snow, Parker came to me with the idea to mimic his wine of choice at the moment and cats. He’s a cat dad and is always up for left field combinations. As I was resketching the wine label, the hills in the background stuck out to me as similar to the Boise foothills. From there I was able to have our hometown mountain of Bogus Basin in the background on the 154 and the Palmer Mile on Mt. Hood on the 157.

With two places we spent a lot of our developing years, this became the ultimate Boise snowboard and the community has been drooling over it ever since. Saludos.

2021.

It all begins with an idea. We spun our wheels for months on end over one idea. Then at the buzzer with the deadline looming, we switched gears and my prayers had been answered. Coming up with the stained glass structure gave us space to work with on this deck. Combining our illustrations as sacrifice to the gods of good times, I was able to hammer this graphic out in time. While living through the pandemic, this deck was tribute to both the heavy times and the activities that bring us joy.

2022.

As the world lense shifts back to the neo-normal, post-covid, we started noticing how fast everyone has been to rush back into things. With an ever growing appreciation of the present and taking things as they come, this board came to life. The sun watching over the chess board of life frought with obstacles and desolation, a boarder rides… or something deep.

Truly hope people can enjoy the lighthearted nature of the illustration and remember to slow down here and there to take in a nice bit of scenery.
